Riggs Klika (Director)

Dr. Klika brings 20 years of expertise working in the exercise science field including team physiologist for the US Ski Team and five years as the laboratory director for the CTS Performance Center in Aspen. Dr. Klika holds a doctorate in Exercise Science from the University of Texas at Austin with a specialization in Human Development and Aging. He received post doctoral training at the National Institutes of Health, National Institute on Aging Summer Institute for research procurement. He was the chair of the International Congress on Skiing and Science in 2004 and has a record of peer reviewed publications. Dr. Klika is a certified Exercise Specialist with the American College of Sports Medicine and a Cancer Exercise Specialist. He was most recently appointed to the Lance Armstrong Foundation Community Review Board.

Kathleen Callahan (Development and Clinical Coordinator)

Kathleen holds a Master’s of Science in Social Work (Ph.D. candidate at University of Utah). She has had a private therapy practice for over 12 years, specializing in family, child and adolescent issues. She is the former Clinical Director of Utah Youth Village, Utah's largest child welfare agency and founder of Image Reborn, a non-profit agency offering retreats for breast cancer survivors. She is also the founder and director of Optimal Outcomes, a non-profit agency offering services to parents with high-risk pregnancy and infant loss. She is a member of the following organizations: National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Teaching Family Association (TFA), Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), Utah Perinatal Association (UPA), National Perinatal Association (NPA). She is the recipient of a Susan G. Komen Grant to run a breast cancer support group located in Aspen, Colorado.

Amy Covington, PAC (Client Care Coordinator)

Amy is a physician assistant (certified) receiving her M.S. and PA training at Northeastern University. She holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder in Environmental, Organismic and Population Biology. She has worked in at Aspen Medical Care (family practice), served as Occupational Health Director at the Aspen Valley Hospital and worked for Aspen Emergency Services.

Michelle Maccarrone (Registered Dietitian)

Michelle received her MS degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition from Colorado State University in 2003. She is employed as a Registered/Clinical Dietitian at Aspen Valley Hospital. She completed her Dietetic Internship at Cornell University and served as a research assistant while at CSU. Michelle specializes in nutrition for weight loss clients and patients with clinical pathologies.

Ellen Miller (Cancer Exercise Specialist)

Ellen was the first North American Women to summit Mt. Everest from both sides. She has an extensive mountaineering background including summiting all 50 14,000’ peaks in Colorado. She resides in Vail, CO where she is a personal trainer as well as a certified coach with the US Track and Field Association coaching ultra-distance athletes.
